I haven’t tried it yet, I don’t know if it works as intended, but man, does it look great.

I am always the healer running completely out of mana before I remember to grab an innervate… wanna know why?  I have a pocket boomkin!  He always took care of my mana needs, but lately he’s not been raiding, so I’ve been forced to rely on myself, which is just a disaster.

Which brings us to Smartervate, an add-on that requests an innvervate from a friendly druid in your raid.  You set the threshold, and you can set the priority on which druids to ask.  Smartervate watches oRA3 to determine who has mana to give, and whispers the appropriate target when you hit your threshold.

Decisions, Decisions

While I have tried to stay away from Cataclysm talks, I haven’t been entirely successful.  I plunged into the chat about dungeons, and I questions still abound about what choices lay before us.  Being an opinionated and outspoken member of our raiding team (in a few ears at least) I have offered opinions and been solicited for advice concerning the coming shape of raids and how it will affect guild management issues.

I can’t say that the thoughts have not occurred to me as I have gained some information here and there, but by and large, I do not intend nor want to be a news aggregate site that discusses pre-release information that I have no way to verify other than frazzled blue postings.  Still, I must make some decisions, about my own role, in forming an informed enough opinion to be an asset to my guild in future discussions, and generally to find out what I want from the coming expansion.

The most difficult decision I face, is what to do about my main.  As of right now, I am thoroughly waffling between a bevy of characters that are in some process of leveling or waiting for the floodgates to open to L85.  The first thing I must do is have any character I am committed to playing as my main up to 80 and ready to level when Cataclysm hits.  I feel I owe that much to my guild, as I fully intend to start a leveling Worgen to explore the new world as well.

Out of my eight character slots on Scarlet Crusade, I have 6 viable characters, a banker type, a saved slot for my upcoming druid, and a *gasp* empty slot.  And to start the list… Continue reading

You're Not Allowed to Be Surprised

I am a total UI fiddler, so it shouldn’t surprise you that I am just as likely to change my WordPress theme more often than is healthy.

Things I Like

  • Having a background!
  • Seeing more than the names of older posts.
  • Squeaky clean bottom bar.
  • Font. I can read it even without my glasses!

Things That Still Need Work

  • Header.  Seriously.
  • Center or left align stuff in the sidebar.  It looks like it’s trying to attach to my posts.
  • Some more color.  All the white is… white.  Expect some colored text or something.

Other ideas and suggestions always welcome ^^

On Dungeon Changes

First off, I’ll just throw out that on the whole, I’m happy with the currently proposed changes to Cataclysm dungeons.  Secondly, I’m going to reiterate my stance of: until I see it, I don’t believe it.  This is not going to be a cheerleader fest for the changes, nor a massive rant on how the changes will ruin the game.  Everyone just needs to take an upper OR downer, and relax until shizz go live.  Until then, it’s nothing but speculation.

That being said, there’s a few things I wanted to address to stretch out some comments I’ve made (Especially on Twitter–OMG, don’t ever make a comment on a hot-topic something or other then walk away from Twitter–it melts the system into a wall of crap you can’t read later). Continue reading

UI Update

I’ll be updating my used add-ons page in the next couple of days, but I thought I’d share what I’ve come up with for my monster.  There’s still a couple of things I’d like to do some more work on (chat background for one) but I think this is going to be my base for a few weeks at least ^^
