This listing is for a freshly minted 80 with no badges, no gold, and no assumptions about any quest items they may or may not have managed to vendor along the way. Gear used to comprise this list can be attained through regular instances, crafting* or reputation gains.
In short, if you’re looking to be prepared to run raids, this list is not for you!
*I included both “standard” patterns and raid patterns for those of you who have the cash lying around to buy your way to a superior upgrade.

Sigil: You’re screwed. Grizzly Hills has some dps trinkets that you can earn through dailies; however, they’re not a huge help. Until you have badges, you won’t be replacing your sigil. I personally will be picking up the Sigil of the Unfaltering Knight first (a steal at 15 Heroism badges) since it gives me some more flexibility regarding defense.
These are “budget” gems, and should not be used throughout your DK career. However, I see no reason to invest significant funds in epic level gems in, often, rare value gear that will be replaced quite quickly. If you choose to invest in high-end blacksmithing gear, use better gems. Use your best judgement!
