Minipost: Blog Azeroth Edition

There’s this great forum known as Blog Azeroth that I wanted to take a moment to talk about today. The Twisted Nether Blogcast (which is airing it’s 150th episode this week!) is associated with this great blogging forum. I’ve been a moderator at BA for a little over a year now, and while I don’t do it as often as I’d like, I think the shared topic is a great way to keep in contact with other bloggers in the community.

All that being said, there’s more that can be done, and a stronger community that we’d like to see at the boards. I know many bloggers that introduce themselves and bloggers and non-bloggers alike who browse the author introductions to find great new blogs on the block. Others take part in the shared topic, or the great blogging circle that has recently been started. There’s a number of good guides available, but, let’s face it, while the information is still good, it’s not exactly fresh either!

One thing I’d like to see (and am thinking about doing) is a weekly or monthly series introducing new “how-to” guides on blogging about Azeroth. What do you use Blog Azeroth for? What do you think is missing? What can we do to make BA more relevant for you?

Transmogrification: 5 Reasons Windsoar Won’t Be Hanging Out in the Ethereal’s Shop

There’s lot of excited folks out there. Finally, a way to lock yourself into a favorite wardrobe! Nostalgia is uniting teams of players to go farm those lost tier sets, players with a bank full of clothes are congratulating themselves on their foresight, and fashionably dressed blogs are reaping the readers.

How can something that reminds of us of Calvin and Hobbes not be win?

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but I’m just not that excited about the transmogrifying closet, and here’s why.

Making a Buck While Leveling Alt No. 2349

Cold is running his monthly festival, and this month it’s all about alts. Since I’ve spent the past week being rather blustery about the wonders of alts, because I really do think they’re a great thing to have around, I thought I’d take part in this particular shared topic. Since Cold is all about making cash, it will be primarily slanted towards making money. However, this alt isn’t for those who are looking to create the perfect complement of max level toons to build their gold-making empire. These are basic tips & tricks that anyone looking to level just for the fun of it can use to squeeze a bit of extra cash out of a disposable character. Continue reading

Circle of Healing, Rebooted

Meep! I’ve been tagged by the lovely Jaysla of Cannot Be Tamed to complete Miss Medicina’s Circle of Healers questionnaire. Although I was healing at the time (chain-heal for the win!) I still considered myself a tank primarily, and so passed up the chance to do the questionairre the first time around. However, Saunder at Non-Squishy Heals decided to ressurect the project, so I have a chance to become involved, this time as a druid! Continue reading

Where Has the Time Gone? A-Musement Party!

Many moons ago, on a server far, far away, Jaded Alt was born. September 3, 2009 to be exact. Since that time, I have spawned 346 posts with 556 tags in 28 categories, created 14 pages, received 1800 comments, and over 100,000 visitors. Although the stats aren’t that important in the grand scheme of things, it’s a lot of growth for a project that started as a personal notebook. Continue reading
